About FixFare

FixFare helps South African homeowners see what a home repair usually costs before they say yes to a quote.

What it does

• Price guides for garage doors, garage door motors, gate motors and geysers, built only from published figures. Each range names its publisher and links to the page it came from, with the date we checked it.
• A free quote check (beta) that lists the items on your quote, shows where each price sits against those published ranges, flags what the quote doesn't mention and drafts questions for your contractor.

Where the prices come from

Manufacturer guides (such as Kwikot), retail listings (such as Leroy Merlin), installers' own guides and price-guide sites (such as Procompare, Energy Bee and FlowLeads). Several price-guide sites earn money from installers, so we name the publisher beside every figure and you can judge for yourself. We show ranges, never a single "correct" price, and we re-check sources regularly.

What FixFare isn't

FixFare isn't a contractor directory, a review site or a registered tradesperson. We never name, rate or rank contractors, and we never publish anyone's quote. A price below or above a published range isn't a verdict: jobs differ in size, brand, access, location and urgency.
